Our lab is seeking graduate students who possess a strong desire to pursue medical and life science research in the future, who are driven by intellectual curiosity, ambition, and motivation, and who have a touch of mischievousness to discover the unknown truth, while being physically and mentally healthy.

For those wishing to pursue basic medical research while working as clinicians or intending to work as researchers at a university, research institute, or company, we fully support your decision to invest in your future.

Our grad students are expected to:

• Perform experiments with experimental animals, cultured cells, genes, proteins, and metabolites (including lipids) as needed.
• Gain various measurement techniques.
• Learn multiple data analysis techniques.
• Develop logical thinking skills.
• Analyze data effectively.
• Plan and conduct research independently.
• Supervise the research of future generations.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm, sincerity, and honesty in scientific endeavors.
• Uphold a strong sense of aesthetics and ethics.

We train and develop researchers in these areas:

• Regulatory mechanisms of energy metabolism in vivo through hypoxic responses
• Regulation of in vivo energy metabolism by sulfur metabolites
• Mechanisms of the production and degradation of phospholipids and bioactive lipids, along with their functions in vivo
• Mechanisms of cellular senescence induced by cellular metabolism
• Identification of cancer cell-specific metabolic systems and exploration of therapeutic targets
• Elucidation of molecular mechanisms in cellular pathophysiological events through proteome and metabolome (including lipidome) analysis using mass spectrometry

The experimental strategy includes biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, analytical chemistry, and mouse genetics.

We are currently looking for a few dedicated, honest, and diligent graduate students who uphold the integrity of science. Graduate students will not only acquire experimental skills but also achieve a thorough interpretation of data, logical reasoning for subsequent steps, and, ultimately, the ability to advance their research as independent scientists through weekly meetings (including journal club and lab meetings) and daily lab activities. You will also improve your skills in reading scientific papers and delivering presentations.
